City of katy - emergency alert system

The City of Katy will launch KTALERT, a mass notification system that notifies registered users of important emergency information pertaining to severe weather, police & fire emergencies, public health crises, widespread power outages, etc. Timely information during emergencies is important. KTALERT will deliver critical information to Katy residents and businesses regarding current conditions, expected impacts, and protective actions to keep themselves and their loved ones safe. Register for emergency alerts through email, text message, voice call, or mobile app push notification. You may download the Everbridge app free of charge from the Apple or Andoid app store. Most alerts are geo-targeted; subscribers with loved ones around the city may register up to five physical addresses per contact record.

Visit to learn more about KTALERT and to register for alerts.

The National Flood Insurance Program
The National Flood Insurance Program aims to reduce the impact of flooding on private and public structures. It does so by providing affordable insurance to property owners, renters and businesses and by encouraging communities to adopt and enforce floodplain management regulations. Our neighborhood is a member of a private online network called Nextdoor that allows neighbors to instantly share crime reports, information on lost/found pets, community events and more within WoodCreek Reserve.  Using Nextdoor will give posts more visability than our website message board, and can get the word out more quickly that waiting for the information to be emailed out. Posts can be private to WoodCreek Reserve neighbors only, or go to surrounding neighborhoods as well.  Currently, there are almost 1,600 participants from 12 nearby neighborhoods participating in Nextdoor.  The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office can also post alerts to our network.
